I went to Tako Marsh in Chiba Prefecture.

▼There is no parking lot, so you will need to park your car on the wide road and begin exploring.

According to the sign, in addition to rare species, the marsh is home to a plant called mujinakugu, which is endemic to the area.

▼Perhaps because it was not the season, there were a lot of vegetation growing.

▼A path had been made of stones, but the vegetation had grown out of control and it was difficult to enter with the equipment we were using, so we gave up on the approach.

▼When I checked the Takohikari Marsh website, I found that the management organization appears to have suspended activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It's an amazing state of affairs.

Overview of Marshland Information

summary

I was surprised to see how the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has reached places like this.

Also, if the plants become overgrown in just two years, management is essential.

I am extremely grateful for the efforts of local people to protect the habitats of endemic species.

I don't know when that will be, but I would like to visit again once the infection situation has calmed down.
