The parking lot at Tsuta Onsen has separate areas for guests and tourists.
I was grateful to be able to use it.
The parking lot is very spacious, clean and well maintained.

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
When traveling around Tohoku at this time of year, you see cherry blossoms in all different states, which can make you lose track of the seasons.

Map of Tsuta Bird Forest.
It is a circular course that goes around the pond.
It takes about 95 minutes to go around the whole route.

We walk along a very beautiful boardwalk.

It's the perfect time to see the Asian skunk cabbage.
There is still a little bit of snow left.
Also, since you walk parallel to the river, the sound of the water is soothing.

At the beginning it is a boardwalk, but it soon changes to dirt like this.

The river heading towards Tsutanuma.
Maybe because it's spring, it's quite thick.

We made good progress and soon arrived at Tsuta Numa!
It is a very large swamp.
It was formed by volcanic activity at the nearby Mount Akakura.

It looks like it's going to snow in April.

There is usually snow on the ground.

There is still snow here and there, so it's easy to lose your way.

Meltwater flows from everywhere, and the sound of the water is very pleasant.

Kagami Pond.
The fresh greenery and the swamp are beautiful.
At this time of year, the current is strong due to melting snow, and the water does not have a mirror-like appearance.

Apparently there are Tago frogs here.
I would love to see it.

It seems that many different birds live in this forest.

Naganuma

I can't get enough of this feeling.

Gourd Swamp.
Apparently tree frogs live here.
When the season comes, you will probably be able to see foam eggs.

Wetland plants.
Truly the best season!

Suganuma
The swamps with fallen trees are the best.

We returned to the hot spring inn.

Since I'm here, I stop by a souvenir shop.

Coffee and sweets after a walk are the best!

summary

I just wanted to stop by for a bit, but I unexpectedly came across a beautiful marshland.
It was easy to explore and the scenery was amazing.
There is still snow on the ground, making the footing difficult, but as long as you are dressed for hiking it should not be a problem.
This is a recommended place to enjoy Aomori's spring to the fullest.
