I went to the Sasshio Marsh in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.
It's surprising that there is a marshland in Iwaki City, which has less precipitation and snow compared to the west side of Fukushima!

▼It is small in size, allowing you to see the whole thing at a glance.

▼We walk along the old-looking wooden path.

▼You can pass through the marsh, so if there are flowers in bloom it will be easy to take photos!

▼The boardwalk has collapsed.
I'm afraid of stepping through something, so I move around aiming for the parts where the legs are.

▼And even further ahead, the area had collapsed.
This is scary.

▼This area is also showing signs of aging.

▼I thought it would be dry at this time of year, but I could see ice so I knew there was still a fair amount of moisture.

▼I walk along the boardwalk cautiously, making sure the path is not broken.

▼I found a sign.
Apparently, you can see things like Japanese laurels.
I might have to return sometime in April or May.

▼There was also a rest area.

▼There is also a parking lot and toilets.
Apparently, this is the entrance.

There is also a large water area.
This might actually be a good thing for spring.

Overview of Marshland Information

summary
This time, the main focus was on the bleak winter scenery and the deterioration of the boardwalk.
A boardwalk runs through the center, so we're hoping to be able to see the Japanese laurels up close.
Next time I'd like to visit in early spring.
