What is Kaminoko Pond?
Kaminokoike Pond is a small pond near Lake Mashu.
The crystal clear water and the sight of the Dolly Varden trout swimming gently in it evoke the idea of timelessness.

Apparently 12,000 liters of water gushes out every day.
The water temperature is maintained at 8°C all year round and does not freeze even in winter.
As a result, fallen trees remain in the pond without rotting, creating a unique landscape.

The water is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom, even when creatures as large as Dolly Varden trout are present, and combined with the presence of fallen trees, it creates a unique and mysterious landscape.
To enjoy this unique mysticism, we recommend going on a sunny day when there are fewer people around.
Origins
Lake Mashu, also known as "Misty Lake Mashu," is said to be the second clearest lake in the world after Lake Baikal.
Lake Mashu was called kami-to, or lake of the gods, in the Ainu language.

Lake Mashu has the unique feature that its water level remains constant throughout the year, even though there are no rivers flowing into or out of the lake.
The reason for this is that the water from Lake Mashu seeps underground and springs up into the surrounding areas.
It is believed to have been formed when groundwater originating from Lake Kami gushed forth, and so it came to be called Kami no Ko Pond.
However, recent investigations have revealed that the water source of Kaminokoike Pond is underground water that flows from precipitation on the outer rim of the volcano.
There are also geological mysteries to discover, which makes me even more interested!

Once you park your car in the parking lot, the only path you'll find is one that's suitable for walking in sneakers.
I think it's fine to wear light clothing.
