I went to Shishigahana Marsh in Akita Prefecture.

▼As it is a well-known marsh, there is a large parking lot.

In addition to this there was also parking for buses.

▼The facility is well equipped, with clean toilets, vending machines, a rest house, and more.

▼There is also a sturdy signboard installed, which is interesting.

▼The range of visitors is probably quite diverse.

▼First, we walk through the midsummer forest.

▼After walking a little, you will find a map.

It will tell you the distance and time roughly.

▼The boardwalk begins.

From here we enter the marsh area.

▼Go deeper into the forest!

You will come across a large river.

Even in the middle of summer, there is plenty of water.

There must be plenty of water in this area.

A large amount of water is also flowing into the waterway.

▼The place where the rotting trees are located is a good forest.

It seems that many different insects use it.

▼Shishigahana Marsh is extremely rich in water.

This is the first time I've seen a marsh with so much water.

▼A distinctive feature of this marsh is the abundance of flowing water.

▼The water volume is controlled by a floodgate.

It looks like a dam.

▼The amount of water is so high that it creates mist.

It reminds me of the mangrove forests of Okinawa.

▼Unfortunately, I had no idea what Chokai Marimo were.

I think it's better to do it when there are fewer plants than in mid-summer.

▼ Queen Agariko

▼The big tree has a nickname.

▼You can also see charcoal kilns from the Edo period.

▼And King Agariko

▼The other side of the road appears to be closed.

▼I encountered a peacock butterfly in the parking lot.

▼When the wings are closed, they become one with the ground and become invisible.

▼Outside of the wing

Overview of Marshland Information

summary

This marshland is characterized by the abundance of flowing water.

In addition to the beautiful nature, there are many things to enjoy as a tourist, such as King Agariko and Chokai Marimo, and it's easy to see why it's so popular!

I wonder how much the water level will increase when the snow melts.

I would also like to visit in a different season.
