2022.5.2 ベンセ湿原-ミズバショウと岩木山-

For the first time, I visited the Bense Marsh in Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture.

Bense Marsh is known as a habitat for large numbers of day lilies.

The day lilies were not in bloom during this visit, but the plants are short so I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of the marshland.

The parking lot is quite large and can get crowded during peak season.

There is also a toilet.

The sign has deteriorated over time, but is still legible.

In addition to the Japanese buttercup, you can also enjoy wild irises and Japanese irises.

Proceeding into the marsh.

Here you will be walking on an unpaved road.

Bense Swamp.

The Bense Marsh is close to the sea, but are these ponds brackish?

Overlooking the marshland.

The flowers you can see in the background are Asian skunk cabbage.

This is what it looks like when you get close with a telephoto lens.

Judging from the size, it must have just sprouted.

Finally inside the marsh!

There is a narrow boardwalk.

The reason for the set route is probably to prevent people from running in the wrong direction during busy seasons.

The view is quite good.

It feels good to walk through the marshland.

There are also signs inside the marsh.

Going further, you will come across a hut.

The view from the hut.

I thought I would be able to see the marshland, but my view was surprisingly blocked.

Is it for bird watching?

There is also a good view of Mt. Iwaki.

Iwaki through a telephoto lens.

The mountain is much more rugged than I had imagined.

We move forward even further.

Looking closely, I think this is probably a Japanese buttercup.

If this many flowers bloom, it will be quite a sight to see.

A few random shots of the marshland.

The wind turbines create a unique landscape.

Is this also a Japanese lily?

The vegetation here seems to be a little different.

Some tall grass stands out.

A rest stop at the end.

It is shaped like an umbrella, perhaps to protect it from snow.

Finally, a view of Mt. Iwaki.

summary

It was outside the season for day lilies, so I wondered what it would be like, but I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

If you are planning to explore the marshes, this season is also recommended.

The highlights of this season are the Asian skunk cabbage and Mt. Iwaki.

The snow-covered Mt. Iwaki looks beautiful, and it is no wonder that it is nicknamed Tsugaru Fuji.
