It is a treasure trove of rare plants and animals, including the Gifu butterfly, which can be seen in early spring.

Touring the Marshes
▼By July, all the marsh plants had finished blooming, and the area was lush and green.

Equipment, stamina, and skills
▼There is a well-maintained boardwalk, so sneakers are no problem.
It takes about 10 minutes to reach the marsh and 20 to 30 minutes to explore the marsh.

It gets very hot in the summer so drinks are a must.
There is little to block the sun, so it is a good idea to use sunscreen as needed.
