SOTO Amicus - Highly functional and compact masterpiece -

Compact and highly functional

It's easy to store and carry around in a cooker or similar container.

About the Gotoku

The four trivet supports provide stable support for the cooker.
Each piece has teeth carved into it, which act as a non-slip surface.
I've never had it slide on the trivet while using it.
However, it's a bit short, so it's probably not suitable for placing large cookware or griddles on.

Space-saving water heater

Because the burner is mounted on top of the gas canister, it allows you to boil water in a space-saving manner.
On the other hand, the overall height of the system becomes too great, and it becomes unstable if it is not parallel to the ground.
The thought of spilling boiling water is terrifying.
Considering Amicus's strengths—its lightness, compactness, and space-saving design—this trade-off is unavoidable.

When you start mountain climbing, you end up spending a lot of money on various equipment.
The Amicus is relatively inexpensive, making it a recommended entry-level model.

High environmental resistance

SOTO burners have a mortar-shaped nozzle, which apparently makes them more resistant to wind.
In my experience, it was usable not only in spring, summer, and autumn, but also on sunny winter days in the mountains and even on mountains with a little snow.

However, it was sometimes difficult to light the fire in strong winds, such as on mountaintops.
Even during periods of heavy snowfall, the cabin could be used normally.

Because the wind was strong, I boiled water in the mountain hut.

Thus, rather than temperature being the main issue, wind strength might pose a slight risk.
That said, I haven't encountered any problems during my three seasons of mountaineering.
