The Tochigaike Wetland Plant Community is a wetland area around an irrigation pond of about 10 hectares. Gardenias grow naturally along the road on the south side of the pond. At the time of designation, there were nearly 1,000 of them, but now there are only about 400. In the wetland, you can see marsh plants such as iris and Japanese iris.
