Sony RX1R III - Walking through a spring wetland -

I took the plunge and bought an RX1R III at the end of last year.
This camera features a full-frame sensor and a 35mm f/2 fixed-focal-length lens, all housed in a small body.
It can't zoom, and the lens can't be changed.
It was an expensive camera, but I'm happy with my purchase.

Many people have already spoken about the beauty of the RX1R III itself and its overall quality as a camera.
Here, I'd rather consider how useful this camera is as a tool for walking through wetlands.
This post will mainly feature photos taken when I took my camera out to places like spring wetlands.

When exploring wetlands, it's best to travel light.
When visiting multiple wetlands, or especially when exploring wetlands deep in the mountains, it becomes a race against time.
At times like these, a lightweight camera is a real blessing.
For now, you can just shove it into your backpack and move on quickly.
It's small enough to carry around all the time, yet it can take landscape photos and also supports macro photography.
Its capabilities are limited, but once you master it, you won't have to worry about forgetting your lenses.
It goes without saying, but this is its greatest strength.

From here on, I will introduce photos that I actually took in the spring wetlands.
I think the best way to understand what it's like to use the RX1R III in a wetland is to look at the actual photos.

landscape

With a 35mm focal length, it's less about capturing a wide landscape as is, and more about capturing a small part of the scenery that catches your eye while walking.
Personally, I think it's just right, but it's not suitable if your goal is to see vast wetlands or mountain landscapes.

flora and fauna

One of the best features of this camera is that macro photography can be done simply by twisting the lens ring.
When you encounter plants and small creatures in a wetland, you can photograph them as if you were taking pictures of things you could hold in your hand and bringing them home with you.

Plants are easy to photograph up close and would make excellent subjects for photography.

Skunk cabbage
Scarlet croaker
Adonis

If you get close enough to the creatures that you feel like you're grabbing them with your bare hands, you can take beautiful photos of them.
This will be a chance to showcase our technology for approaching living creatures.

summary

If you're only considering serious landscape or wildlife photography, there are plenty of other pieces of equipment that are more suitable.
However, it's amazing that this one camera can capture everything from landscapes to close-ups in full size.
In fact, since I got this camera that I can easily take with me anytime, I've had more opportunities to take pictures.
I take it with me when I go out for drinks at my accommodation, and even when I go to the convenience store.
Because you never know when, where, or what kind of creature you might encounter.
The RX1R III is a fantastic piece of equipment that makes you want to carry it with you all the time.
