Touring the Marshes

The three main attractions on Mt. Hiuchi are Takaya Pond, Tengu Garden, and the summit.
They are all excellent and it's hard to choose a favorite.
It's a tough process that involves climbing, but the views are well worth it.

On one side stretches the Sea of Japan, and on the other is Tengu's Garden.
It is truly a mountain top with flowers in both hands.

Equipment, stamina, and skills

If you plan to hike to the summit in one day, you will need to be physically fit (the course time will exceed 9 hours).
However, since it is difficult to make a reservation for Takayaike Hut, it may be a good idea to start off with a day trip to Takayaike Pond and Tengu Garden.

In the beginning, you just walk along the boardwalk. This means that you also walk along the boardwalk towards the end of the journey back, which wears down your leg strength.

From the middle of the trail onwards, the trail becomes like this.

The second half of the journey follows a road with good visibility.
Even though we've come this far, we still have a long way to go.

If you are aiming for the summit on a day trip, you will need to start quite early in the morning and have a certain level of physical strength. It is a good idea to consider the time and use Takaya Pond and Tengu Garden as checkpoints.

The starting point is at the second parking lot, a short distance from the trailhead.

Toilets are available at Takataniike Hut along the way.

Dozens of cars can be parked in front of the trailhead, and over 100 cars can be parked in the second parking lot further back.
It's unlikely that the entire place will be filled, but if you want to catch the best season it might be better to go early.
