When I went to the ropeway station to tour the ponds of Mt. Asahidake, I found the visitor's center and decided to stop by.
If you are going to the marshes or mountains, we recommend the visitor center.
With exhibits on flora and fauna, climate, topography, local culture and history, it's a great way to learn about the unique atmosphere of the area.
Especially when I visit a new place, I make it a point to stop by to get a feel for the place.

The visitor center has stuffed specimens of Hokkaido creatures, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere of Hokkaido's animals.
Size is an important clue when searching for living things.
I'm so grateful to be able to see the real thing like this!

It is displayed like a diorama, which is very satisfying.

When you think of Hokkaido, you think of the brown bear.
Huge!

There was even a stuffed Hokkaido pika.
It was much smaller than I imagined, about the size of a mouse.
This is going to be a pain to find.

We didn't have enough time to go into detail, but there were many interesting exhibits, including those on the history of Mount Daisetsu.

There is a map that shows information on the current flora and fauna, as well as traces of brown bears.
It will be useful for both walks and mountain climbing.

I forgot to take pictures, but there are plenty of souvenirs available.
There are lots of Asahidake goods, so it's great!
