Wetlands of the Shikoku region

There are very few flat marshes in Shikoku.
Small spring-fed wetlands and valley marshes in the mountains, as well as coastal tidal flats and salt marshes, are scattered throughout the area.
On the Seto Inland Sea side, there is little rain and the rivers are short, so reservoirs have been built to provide water for agricultural use.
This pond serves as a wetland.
Among the reservoirs in Shikoku, there are some that have been selected as one of the Ministry of the Environment's 500 important wetlands.

It is home to a natural park and educational facilities.
With 81 species of dragonflies and over 700 species of wildflowers confirmed, this is a recommended place for observing wildlife.
